How to remove putty from carpet.
Then remove the bag and use a small knife to cut the frozen putty into small pieces.
To get silly putty out of carpet first fill a sealable plastic bag with ice cubes.
It may help to either rub in a circular motion or blot at the area with a clean cloth.
Seal the top of the bag and place it on the silly putty.
Spray a small amount of wd 40 product to the area of your putty stain and allow it to absorb into your carpet for at least 30 seconds.
You can then use a soft cloth or sponge to massage the area where the wd 40 has been applied working to remove the stain.
Use a clean cloth to gently scrub the area.
This also works well with crayons or candles that have melted onto carpets or fabrics.
Back and forth motion might push putty deeper into carpet area.
Remove silly putty from carpet try placing a paper bag or piece of wax paper over the silly putty and ironing over the stain it should melt on to the paper.
Make it soaked and thoroughly wet.
Blot surface with remaining putty using this cotton ball.
Then take clean cloth to scrub area.

For removing silly putty on carpet i used wd 40 on spot for 10 minutes as recommended on your website but i had no rubbing alcohol so instead i followed with oxi clean in hot water a little rubbing with an old toothbrush and the silly putty came right out.
If the ice starts to melt change it you want that silly putty more frozen than a dinosaur in the ice age.
Here are a few different ways that you can get rid of silly putty from your carpet.
Use circular motion instead.
A ziplock bag with enough ice in it to cover the whole area of the silly putty is what you need.
Be cautious not to push the putty further into the carpet.
Place the bag of ice on the silly putty and leave it for a few hours.
Continue blotting at the residue until all of the putty is removed.
Check periodically to determine your progress.
Let it sit for 2 3 hours refilling the bag as needed whenever the ice melts.
I imagine rubbing alcohol would break up the silly putty too but haven t tried it just a thought.
