I ve used these types of anchors in drywall many many times with no problem.
Hollow wall anchors through tile.
Surely he should drill the tile without the hammer action first starting at low speed before engaging it as the bit enters the masonary behind in the case of a hollow wall he doesn t need the hammer action at all he either uses a toggle fitting or if he hits a stud just screws straight in.
This anchor can be installed using a hammer or a drill and can be used with various wall thicknesses.
Hanging something on a tile wall is easyif you re lucky enough to catch a stud that is.
However the small teeth on the back of the collar of the wall anchor obviously wont dig into the hard tile face like they normally would on plasterboard so the fixing wont have anything to grip against when tightening it up.
We walk you through.
But with the tile after i drill the hole the anchor won t fit into it.
I have to use hollow wall anchors because the tile is over drywall or possibly cement board.
Hollow wall anchors are used for medium duty applications.
But i m having a problem.
These types of anchors also expand as the screw is tightened and driven into the cavity.
They ll normally add permanent screw threads to any material to which they re attached.
If you re not you ll need to use a hollow wall anchor to keep your new shelf in place.
